Brian D. West
Brian has a general law practice, focusing on real estate, wills and estates, corporate law and
commercial transactions. He brings a practical approach to solving legal issues, and relies on his varied
life experience to build strong relationships with his clients.
Born and raised in Southern Alberta, Brian obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the
University of Lethbridge. After graduating, he moved to the Philadelphia area to work for the
pharmaceutical company Merck & Co., Inc. as part of a drug discovery team studying Alzheimer’s and
Parkinson’s. Eventually he returned to Alberta to attend law school at the University of Calgary. Brian
articled and worked with a national law firm in Calgary before moving his practice to Okotoks in 2011.
Outside of law, Brian loves to discover new places and has travelled throughout Europe, Asia, and
southern Africa. Closer to home, the perfect day usually involves spending time with his family in the
mountains. Brian enjoys playing and watching sports and is a golfer and a passionate Philadelphia
Eagles fan. He is also an avid reader and is interested in biographies and current affairs.

Terrance A. Meyers
Terrance practices in civil litigation, working to resolve disputes by both asserting and protecting his
clients’ legal rights. He uses litigation, dispute resolution, and other legal strategies with a focus on
efficient conflict resolution and settlement.
Terrance was born in Calgary and raised in DeWinton and Okotoks. Working with his family’s water well
drilling company, he grew up serving Okotoks and the rural areas of the Foothills and Southern Alberta.
He graduated from Holy Trinity Academy in 2005, received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a
Business Option at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 2009, and received the
degree of Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2011. Terrance joined both the Law Society of
Alberta and the Law Society of Nunavut in 2012 and since has practiced across both jurisdictions.
Terrance returned with his family to Okotoks and joined MacLean West in July, 2016. They are
enthusiastic about their return and reconnection with the community. Terrance particularly enjoys
winter sports, golf, camping, bicycling, and antique cars, and maintains interests in current events,
politics, economics, computing technologies, and community affairs.

John C. “Jack” MacLean, Q.C.
After a distinguished legal career spanning over four decades, Jack retired from the practice of law at
the end of 2016. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and is an active member of the
Rotary Club of Okotoks.
